Adriana Sandoval
Founding Managing Partner Strategy & Investments
Adriana Sandoval founded Kans Capital in 2022 and brings over 20 years of professional experience in investment banking, finance, accounting, and operations management.
Her expertise includes financial and strategic valuation, risk analysis, and managing due diligence processes across a wide range of industries and geographies.
Adriana’s career began in 2004 at UBS Equity Research in Mexico. She then joined Scotiabank Equity Research before moving to Morgan Stanley Investment Banking, where she gained extensive experience in global industries, financial institutions, consumer goods, and the retail sector.
In 2007, Adriana became Vice President at a Family Office and was promoted to CFO and Director of Strategy in 2013. During her tenure, she led numerous M&A transactions, sales and acquisitions of competitive assets, and public and private debt and equity raises. She also negotiated bondholder consent, managed relationships with rating agencies, and conducted preventive litigation analysis, among other responsibilities.
As a portfolio manager, Adriana was responsible for project valuation, investment analysis and recommendations, financial planning strategies, budgeting, profitability optimization, and audit processes. Notable projects she worked on include infrastructure transactions for public-private partnerships, the evaluation of a $1 billion aviation company, the creation of a de novo bank, an electronic commodities exchange, and several mining projects in various stages of development.
Adriana holds a degree in Economics from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) and a certification in Alternative Investments from Harvard Business School Online. Her diverse expertise and deep industry knowledge make her a valuable leader at Kans Capital.
José Luis Pérez
Chief Investment Officer
José Luis joined Kans Capital in 2023 as Chief Investment Officer, where he leads the firm's investment strategy and transaction execution across growth equity, real estate, and private credit in Mexico and the United States. He currently serves on the boards of several portfolio companies. With more than 13 years of experience in private equity and strategic consulting, he brings extensive expertise across the full investment lifecycle, from origination and structuring through execution and exit.
Prior to joining Kans Capital, José Luis served as Vice President at Alta Growth Capital, where he led investments in a North American manufacturer of heavy-duty vehicle components, a hospital network serving major tourist destinations in Mexico, an end-to-end e-commerce platform, and a security solutions provider. He oversaw investments in the semi-trailer manufacturing and fitness industries, was actively involved in exit processes, and served on the boards and executive committees of several portfolio companies.
Earlier in his career, José Luis worked at Actinver's private equity fund, where he led the structuring and execution of an investment in a leading hospital group in Mexico.
Before beginning his investment career, José Luis worked at McKinsey & Company, where he contributed to more than ten strategic consulting engagements across Mexico, the United States, and other Latin American countries, serving clients in industries including mining, consumer goods, oil and gas, and healthcare.
José Luis holds a bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from Universidad Iberoamericana and an Executive MBA from IPADE Business School.
Akira Hirata
Vice President
Strategy
Akira Hirata is Vice President of Strategy at Kans Capital, where he leads strategic planning and execution, business development, operations, and capital raising initiatives. Since joining the firm in 2024, he has played a key role in the development and fundraising of Kans Capital's investment vehicles, as well as in the origination and execution of strategic transactions across the education, telecommunications, and financial services sectors.
Prior to joining Kans Capital, Akira built a distinguished career at HR Ratings, where he served as Director of Financial Institutions and ABS. During his tenure, he led the analysis, structuring, and rating of alternative assets and structured financing transactions across public and private markets, including mortgage-backed securities, consumer finance portfolios, leasing structures, and corporate financings.
Earlier in his career, Akira worked at J.P. Morgan Chase, where he participated in macroeconomic analysis and the development of investment and trading strategies for government fixed-income securities and foreign exchange markets.
Juan José Ortiz

Investments
Juan José joined Kans Capital in 2026 as Vice President of Investments, where he is involved in the origination, analysis, and execution of investment opportunities across private equity, real estate, and credit transactions. He brings extensive experience in investment banking, private equity, structured finance, and real estate.
Before joining Kans Capital, he served as Director at Alsis Funds, a private equity firm focused on structured financing, with more than US$470 million deployed primarily across real estate assets in Mexico, Latin America, and Spain. In this role, he led the execution of new investments and the active management of the firm's portfolio, including complex restructurings and special situations that resulted in capital recovery and optimized cash flow profiles. He also played an active role in fundraising and business development initiatives.
Previously, he was Investment Manager at Lottus Education, a higher education investment platform, where he led M&A transactions across the education and edtech sectors in Mexico and Latin America. He was instrumental in the platform's inorganic growth strategy, driving acquisitions that positioned Lottus Education among the region's leading players.
He began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Corporate Finance, advising leading companies in Mexico and Latin America on M&A transactions, capital raising, and restructuring initiatives across financial institutions, healthcare, manufacturing, and consumer sectors.
Juan José holds a Bachelor's degree in Finance from Universidad Iberoamericana.
Rodrigo Sánchez
Vice President
Investments
Rodrigo joined Kans Capital in 2023 as Vice President of Investments and has actively participated in growth equity, real estate, and credit transactions across Mexico and the United States. He brings more than 12 years of experience in valuation and transactions involving private equity, public markets, and real estate.
Prior to joining Kans Capital, Rodrigo was part of Acamar Partners, a Miami-based team that raised a US$300 million SPAC listed on Nasdaq. During the search process, he led the valuation and analysis of hundreds of consumer-sector companies across the United States, Europe, and Latin America. He played a key role in the successful business combination with a U.S. company valued at more than US$1 billion.
Previously, Rodrigo worked at Mira, a real estate investment fund responsible for deploying capital from the first CERPI raised in Mexico. There, he led valuation efforts and participated in the negotiation of dozens of projects nationwide. He played an important role in the acquisition of the fund's largest investment, which represented several billion pesos in deployed capital.
Rodrigo began his career at Morgan Stanley in Equity Research, covering the construction, real estate, and petrochemicals sectors. He also contributed to the firm's broader Mexico market strategy team, supporting the development of model portfolios and participating directly in two successful IPO processes.
Rodrigo holds a Bachelor's degree in Finance from Universidad Iberoamericana and is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA).
Sonia Quevedo Salceda

Legal & Compliance
Sonia leads the Legal & Compliance function at Kans Capital, overseeing the legal structuring of investments, regulatory compliance, anti-money laundering (AML) programs, and the strengthening of corporate governance practices, ensuring alignment with both domestic and international standards.
She brings more than 20 years of experience in corporate legal advisory, with a distinguished career spanning international law firms and global corporations. Throughout her career, she has advised domestic and international clients on corporate structuring, business implementation, and regulatory compliance matters.
Sonia has developed extensive expertise in corporate governance, contractual matters, and regulatory processes through her work at firms including Thacher Proffitt & Wood and Blanco Carrillo. She later joined organizations such as Ford Motor Company and Corporación Interamericana de Entretenimiento (CIE), where she gained a comprehensive understanding of the operational, legal, and risk-management needs of multinational corporations.
Her profile combines a strategic legal perspective with a practical, execution-oriented approach, enabling her to develop legal solutions aligned with business objectives and complex regulatory frameworks.
She has extensive experience integrating ESG considerations into corporate structures and strengthening compliance, governance, and risk management practices. She has also led professional development initiatives, pro bono programs, and strategic projects focused on sustainability and organizational impact.
Sonia holds a Law degree from Universidad Iberoamericana.
En 2023, Pablo se integró a Kans Capital, donde actualmente se desempeña como Asociado del equipo de inversiones. En su rol, contribuye a la originación, evaluación y ejecución de inversiones en growth equity, deuda y real estate en México y Estados Unidos, participando en procesos de due diligence, estructuración y cierre. Asimismo, ha participado en la evaluación de un amplio pipeline de oportunidades multisectoriales, colaborando con el comité de inversión y con equipos directivos de compañías del portafolio en iniciativas de creación de valor y seguimiento estratégico.
Pablo began his professional career at General Electric Gas Power (now GE Vernova) in 2021, where he participated in global pricing and competitiveness analysis. In 2022, he joined Finmédica (Healthec by TecSalud) as an Investment Analyst, where he was part of the team responsible for structuring the project and contributed to business plan development, capital raising efforts, financial planning, and healthcare project execution in Mexico.
Pablo holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM).
Alejandro Barrientos Investment Associate
Alejandro joined Kans Capital in 2023 and is currently an Associate on the investment team. He leads the evaluation and execution of growth equity, private credit and real estate investments across Mexico and the United States, with responsibility for the full transaction lifecycle, from origination and initial underwriting through structuring, negotiation and closing.
His experience includes developing investment theses, building financial models, conducting valuation and due diligence, and structuring transactions. He also coordinates internal workstreams and external advisors, negotiates key economic and contractual terms with shareholders, management teams and other counterparties, and leads the preparation of investment memoranda, updates and recommendations presented to the Investment Committee throughout the approval process.
Alejandro is also actively involved in portfolio management, working closely with management teams on value creation initiatives, strategic planning, performance monitoring and the evaluation of growth opportunities. He also supervises and mentors junior members of the investment team across the analysis and execution of transactions.
Before joining Kans Capital, Alejandro worked at Barlovento Consultores, where he advised clients on strategic initiatives involving financial and operational analysis, business model assessment, organizational restructuring and opportunities to drive growth and improve profitability.
Alejandro holds a degree in Engineering Physics from Universidad Iberoamericana.
Álvaro Girault
Investment Analyst
Álvaro joined Kans Capital in 2024 as an Investment Analyst. In his role, he is involved in the analysis, valuation, and monitoring of investment opportunities. Since joining the firm, he has participated in the evaluation and development of multiple opportunities across various sectors and geographies, including Mexico, the United States, and Europe, as well as in the preparation of materials and presentations for investment committees.
Álvaro began his professional career at Agua Nueva Capital Ventures in 2023, where he participated in the sourcing, fundraising, and valuation of investment opportunities for a venture capital fund.
Álvaro holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico.
Miguel Ángel Guzmán

Miguel joined Kans Capital in 2023 as an Investment Intern and was promoted to Investment Analyst in 2024. In his current role, he participates in the analysis, valuation, and monitoring of investment opportunities. Since joining the firm, he has been involved in the evaluation and development of multiple opportunities across various sectors and geographies, including Mexico, the United States, and Europe, as well as in the preparation of materials and presentations for investment committees.
Miguel began his professional career at Laboratorios Carnot in 2022, where he participated in planning, analysis, and negotiations with clients and suppliers.
Miguel Ángel holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Universidad Iberoamericana.
Regina Polanco
Investment Intern
Regina joined Kans Capital in 2025 as an Investment Intern, where she has participated in the analysis of private equity and real estate investment opportunities in Mexico and the United States.
Luis Arturo joined Kans Capital in 2024. He holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the Universidad del Pedregal and a master's degree in Finance from the Universidad Panamericana.
Luis Arturo brings extensive experience in general business management, with a focus on long-term strategic planning and the achievement of sustainable results.
He began his professional career as an Investment Fund Analyst at Banco Mercantil del Norte's Asset Management Division, where he gained experience in fund analysis, portfolio management, and investment opportunity evaluation. He later served as Financial Planning and Accounting Manager at Solutions 123, where he was responsible for the organization's financial, commercial, and accounting strategy and analysis.
Throughout his career, he has developed strong expertise in financial planning, budgeting, accounting analysis, business administration, and financial reporting for decision-making purposes.
Fabián Ruiz
Office Manager and Managing Partner Assistant
Fabián joined Kans Capital in 2026 as Office Manager & Managing Partner Assistant. He brings a strong background in administrative management and executive support, with experience in highly demanding operational environments.
He began his career in the tourism industry, where he developed expertise in customer service, coordination, and administrative operations. He later spent more than seven years in the cruise industry, holding key responsibilities in administrative management, process organization, and operational support while working alongside multidisciplinary teams in dynamic international environments.
Fabián holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Guadalajara.
Ricardo Salas
Operations Associate
With 9 years of experience in the investment funds and financial services industry, Ricardo Salas has built a solid career focused on operational transformation, process automation, and strengthening internal controls. Throughout his career, he has contributed to the implementation of best practices, process optimization, and operational efficiency. His experience combines technical expertise, strong analytical skills, and a continuous improvement mindset, with a focus on organizational efficiency and the coordination of strategic initiatives.
Ricardo began his career at Citibanamex, joining the Investment Funds Accounting team. During this period, he participated in market pricing calculations and regulatory compliance processes, building a strong foundation in the operation, valuation, and oversight of investment vehicles.
In 2018, he joined BlackRock as part of the transition resulting from the acquisition of Citibanamex's investment funds business. Throughout this process, he contributed to adapting operations to the firm's global standards, helping ensure business continuity and the implementation of new processes in collaboration with international teams. This experience strengthened his ability to manage organizational transformation initiatives, coordinate cross-functional efforts in international environments, and adapt to globally standardized operating models.
In 2020, Ricardo joined BNP Paribas Mexico as part of the firm's strategy to establish its Fund Administration business in Mexico, contributing to the operational transition and implementation of the business model in accordance with the Group's global standards. He later drove initiatives focused on internal controls, automation, and continuous improvement by developing monitoring tools, key performance indicators (KPIs), and operational processes that enhanced efficiency and regulatory compliance. He subsequently assumed Project Management Office (PMO) responsibilities, leading technology transformation initiatives focused on process automation and optimization, the adaptation of critical platforms to regulatory changes, and the functional management of strategic applications supporting investment fund operations, while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and institutional clients.
Ricardo holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from the Universidad de Cuautitlán Izcalli. He also holds the Microsoft Office Specialist Expert certification in Excel and a Data Science diploma from BEDU. Fernanda Valencia Márquez

Fernanda joined Kans Capital in 2025 as an Administrative & Accounting Analyst. She brings experience in organizational management, business processes, and corporate analysis.
During her university years, she participated in several academic and extracurricular initiatives focused on improving administrative processes and analyzing business environments.
Upon completing her studies, she began her professional career at Carmela y Sal, where she worked within the administrative and finance department. There, she actively contributed to operational management, vendor administration, expense control, reconciliations, and the development of initiatives aimed at improving business efficiency, demonstrating initiative and adaptability in dynamic environments.
Fernanda holds a Bachelor's degree in Administration and Strategic Management from Universidad Intercontinental and a Diploma in Digital Marketing.
