Adriana’s career began in 2004 at UBS Equity Research in Mexico. She then joined Scotiabank Equity Research before moving to Morgan Stanley Investment Banking, where she gained extensive experience in global industries, financial institutions, consumer goods, and the retail sector.
In 2007, Adriana became Vice President at a Family Office and was promoted to CFO and Director of Strategy in 2013. During her tenure, she led numerous M&A transactions, sales and acquisitions of competitive assets, and public and private debt and equity raises. She also negotiated bondholder consent, managed relationships with rating agencies, and conducted preventive litigation analysis, among other responsibilities.
As a portfolio manager, Adriana was responsible for project valuation, investment analysis and recommendations, financial planning strategies, budgeting, profitability optimization, and audit processes. Notable projects she worked on include infrastructure transactions for public-private partnerships, the evaluation of a $1 billion aviation company, the creation of a de novo bank, an electronic commodities exchange, and several mining projects in various stages of development.
Adriana holds a degree in Economics from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) and a certification in Alternative Investments from Harvard Business School Online. Her diverse expertise and deep industry knowledge make her a valuable leader at Kans Capital.
Chávez Vargas began his professional career as the General Counsel at a bank and later served as a partner at Thacher Proffit & Wood, a U.S. law firm, for 11 years. He then specialized in Financial Law and founded his own firm, Chávez Vargas Abogados, in 2010. He has been recognized by Chambers and Partners, LexLatin, and Legal 500 as one of the country’s most influential lawyers in banking, finance, capital markets, and infrastructure.
His extensive experience spans domestic and cross-border securitizations backed by assets and future flows, as well as transactions involving accounts receivable, consumer credits, toll road fees derived from federal and state concessions, rents, tax contributions, and automotive loans.
Notable career highlights include his participation in multiple securitizations of state and municipal revenues and his role in implementing legislative reforms to facilitate such transactions. Additionally, he has experience in mortgage bridge loan securitizations, warehousing lines, infrastructure projects, acquisitions, privatizations, and debt restructuring.
José Antonio holds a law degree from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) and a Diploma in Senior Business Management from the Instituto Panamericano de Alta Dirección de Empresas (IPADE).
Before joining Kans Capital, José Luis was Vice President at Alta Growth Capital, where he led investments in a manufacturing company of components for heavy-duty vehicles in North America, a leading hospital group in tourist destinations in Mexico, an e-commerce service integrator, and a security provider for the retail industry. José Luis actively managed other portfolio companies in the manufacturing and fitness sectors. He served on the Board of Directors and Executive Committees of several investments and oversaw divestments of successful companies in the manufacturing sector.
Previously, José Luis worked in other Private Equity funds, where his leadership in the structuring and execution of an investment in a renowned hospital chain in Mexico in Actinver’s Private Equity Fund stands out.
Prior to his professional career in Private Equity, Jose Luis worked at McKinsey & Company, collaborating on more than 10 strategic engagements in mining, consumer goods, corporate sustainability, oil & gas, and healthcare sectors in Mexico, the United States, and other Latin American countries.
Jose Luis holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Universidad Iberoamericana and an executive MBA from IPADE Business School.
She has expertise in strategic decision-making and highly complex business development.
In 2012, she joined a specialized family office focused on investments in the mining and infrastructure sectors. Her expertise was recognized, and in just four years, she was appointed Director of Corporate Strategy, a position she held until 2022.
Paulina participated in public and private buying and selling processes of mining assets and infrastructure projects, designing effective investment strategies focused on optimizing and maximizing financial returns. She also created innovative and sophisticated participation structures that adapt to each transaction and project.
She was involved in evaluating various investment projects, financial valuations, due diligence processes, corporate, tax, and financing strategies, debt issuances, and restructurings in Mexico and abroad. Her work included financial resource optimization, mergers, acquisitions, spin-offs, liquidations of companies, corporate governance, and closing transactions involving equity and debt, among others.
Previously, Paulina worked as a corporate debt and structured analyst at HR Ratings, one of Mexico’s most prestigious credit rating agencies.
Paulina holds a degree in Industrial Engineering and a Master’s in Business Administration from the Universidad Iberoamericana, and she is certified in Alternative Investments from Harvard Business School.
Before joining Kans Capital, Akira was a part of HR Ratings, one of Mexico’s leading credit rating agencies. In his last role at HR Ratings as Director of Financial Institutions and Asset-Backed Securities, he was responsible for rating, structuring, and analyzing alternative assets, mainly structured debt instruments in public and private markets. These included Trust-Bankruptcy Equivalent Securities (CEBURS) issuances and structured credits backed by mortgage portfolios, consumer credits, leases, and middle-market loans. Additionally, he handled the valuation and financial analysis of banking entities, non-banking financial institutions (NBFIs), insurers, pension funds, and investment funds involving debt instruments, among other assets.
Before his experience at HR Ratings, he began his professional career at J.P. Morgan Chase as part of the Economic Research team, focusing on macroeconomic analysis for developing investment strategies and trading government fixed-income instruments and currencies in Latin America.
Akira holds a bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México and is certified in Structured Instruments by the Riskmathics Financial Institute. Additionally, he is a candidate for the CAIA certification.
He began his career at Morgan Stanley doing Equity Research covering the construction, real estate and petrochemical sectors. He was also part of the general strategy team for the Mexican market where he contributed to the construction of model portfolios. During this stage, he also participated directly in two successful IPO processes.
Later on, he joined Mira, a real estate investment fund, as part of the acquisitions team and whose objective was to invest the funds of the first CERPI raised in the country. At this stage, he led the valuation efforts and was part of the negotiation of dozens of projects around the country. He played a key role in the acquisition of the most important CERPI project where billions of pesos are currently being invested.
Prior to joining Kans, he was part of Acamar Partners, a Miami-based team that raised a US$300 million SPAC on Nasdaq. During the search process he oversaw the valuation and analysis processes for hundreds of companies in the consumer sector in the United States, Europe and Latin America. He was instrumental in the successful business combination of the SPAC with a US company valued at over US$1 billion.
Rodrigo holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Universidad Iberoamericana.
In 2021, he joined Barlovento Consultores, a management consulting firm specialized in structured leadership, innovative methodologies, and rigorous financial and qualitative analyses to help clients achieve real and tangible results. He participated in the design of complex and innovative financial and business models and strategies for companies in the retail, technology, automotive and food industries. He was also part of the team tasked to completely restructure a top IT company to maximize profits, improve operating processes and implement a proper corporate governance structure.
Alejandro holds a bachelor´s degree in Physics Engineering from Universidad Iberoamericana. As Student President, he led the development of various initiatives to enhance student programs and to prepare the students for the constantly evolving job market.
Andrea brings to the team six years of work experience in the compliance and legal consulting field.
In 2020, she joined Aeroméxico Rewards, where she played a pivotal role in establishing the corporate ethics program, implementing the Due Diligence program, and designing the anti-money laundering program.
Subsequently, in 2022, Andrea joined the Financial Intelligence Unit of American Express, where she handled due diligence on potential clients and contributed to the strengthening of internal manuals and policies.
Andrea holds a law degree from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey.
Pablo brings to the team over two years of work experience in the structuring and evaluation of investments, and strategic financial planning. He joined FinMédica, where he played a crucial role in raising capital and debt for a short-stay clinics project and in the operational launch of the first short-stay clinic. Additionally, he managed the company’s annual budget and treasury. Before this, he worked at GE Gas Power, conducting data analysis, creating dashboards, and developing tools to optimize revenues and margins. Pablo holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México.
Luis Arturo brings extensive experience in corporate management, focusing on long-term strategies and achieving results. He began his professional development as an Investment Fund Analyst at the General Directorate of Investment Fund Operations at Banco Mercantil del Norte, where he gained experience in fund analysis and management, as well as in evaluating investment opportunities. Subsequently, he became the Financial Planning and Accounting Manager at Solutions 123, where he was responsible for the strategy and financial, commercial, and accounting analysis. Luis Arturo holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Universidad del Pedregal and a Master’s degree in Finance from Universidad Panamericana.
A graduate in Business Administration from the Universidad del Valle de México, Elena has built a solid career across various industries, demonstrating her ability to efficiently support senior management in dynamic and high-pressure environments.
She began her career at Canal Once, assisting in the IT Department. Later, she worked at PwC as an Executive Assistant, where she played a key role in the firm’s administrative management. Her experience also includes prominent roles at Grupo Traxión and Grupo BAL, where she specialized in office administration and legal management.
With a proven track record in optimizing operations and providing strategic support to senior management, Elena is known for her ability to lead multiple tasks with precision and maintain high standards of quality.
